Survival Gear, Outdoor Gear, Camping Gear
Written by travelwell on March 14th, 2008Survival gear, outdoor gear, and camping gear. These days everyone should have a survival outfit and survival kit on hand just in case a natural or man made emergency occurs close to you.
Fortunately, most people would already have some survival gear on hand that could be used in case of an emergency. Items like flashlights, lighters, Coleman stoves, hunting knives, sleeping bags, and the like are found in many homes.
You should put together a survival kit and store it in a heavy duty gear bag or backpack so that you can get away fast if need be. With drought conditions in widespread areas of the US, Australia, and Europe a forest fire headed your way would make you look quite smart that you could pick up your prepacked bag and go on short notice
If you are a camper or mountain climber you will already be familiar with famous brands of camping and out door gear and apparel such as The North Face, Bakley, Patagonia, and Perception. These types of outdoors gear will serve you well in an emergency should you have to be outdoors for some time.
Of course, you need to evaluate your emergency clothing requirements based upon your location. If you experience severe Winter weather it would be well worth it to spend the extra money for top notch clothing and equipment, including rugged waterproof boots.
Survival gear and camping gear can be stylish. Well, why not? That means you can wear your survival gear about town and look as good as you do in the great outdoors.
To survive an emergency you must be prepared beforehand or be darn lucky. It’s better to have survival gear on hand than to depend on blind luck.
Buy your survival gear and clothing now. If you are an outdoors person you will enjoy wearing and using your gear for camping trips, hiking, mountain climbing, fishing trips, backpacking, and the like but will be well prepared for an emergency that we hope will never come.
And while you are packing be sure to include water and enought non perishable food to tide you over for at least a few days.
